Dear Amazing & Wonderful People:

Lately I've been getting a fabulously overwhelming number of calls and emails from photographers, designers, students, and all kinds of people interested in becoming a part of our team.

As I speak to more and more of you, it's clear to me that the world is filled with so many creative and talented souls.

People who want to make their lives a little happier by making a living at something they love.

First, and to all of you, I have to say....there is a place out there for you. I know this because after years of trudging (through jobs I didn't like) and scrambling (to find a way to make a living at what I loved) and questioning (if I was good enough and tough enough to make a living at what I loved) -- I found my perfect place.

It may take a little time, but look long and hard enough...BE BRAVE...and you will find it.

If I could, I would hire you all! I would find seats for each and every one of you on this crazy ride and you could buckle in and we'd be off on our next adventure... but unfortunately all of our seats are filled right now.

I would love nothing more than to spend hours chatting with you all and learning about what you've seen and where you've been and about all of the amazing skills you have to offer, but if I gave everyone that time....I would never get anything done for the people who have spent their hard earned dollars to hire me.

So for now, I hope this will suffice. Keep visiting....keep reading....keep commenting. I love being a part of your day. We've got some exciting new projects that will be launched in the near future and I can guarantee that sometime soon a position or two will open up on our team and we will be looking for people like you -- with the undying talent and drive and passion to join our crazy crew. So stay close by. But for now...I wish you all great adventures in your hunt for happiness.

And thank you, thank you, thank you for loving what we do.

I spent the day on Sesame Street. Sort of.

I spent this morning doing something really cool.

I'm on the board for our local arts council and when I can, I volunteer my photography services as well. This morning, I got to hang with Cookie Monster's pal -- Gordon, from Sesame Street (aka Roscoe Orman). What a cool, interesting guy! I followed him as he toured a few local daycare centers and spent some time with the kids. They were so excited to see him!

Here are a few of my favorites:

By the way, Roscoe recently wrote and illustrated his own children's book! It's called Ricky & Mobo and it's based on parts of his own childhood -- you can read more about it here! I can't wait to check it out.

Michelle & Dave's Big Day . Cape May, New Jersey

I heart Michelle & Dave's wedding.

I can't pick favorites because that just wouldn't be fair....but if I could....Michelle & Dave's wedding this past weekend in Cape May, NJ would be up there at the very tippy top of the page for so many reasons. Here's the short list on why I loved it:

1. Cape May, NJ (the wedding location) = sweet little beach town with all kinds of great old stuff to shoot/play around. Fun bars, beautiful shoreline, old victorians as far as the eye can see, and it just happened to be jazz weekend. Does it get better than this?

2. Congress Hall (the reception site) = the perfect recipe of vintage charm + luxury all mixed together in a beautiful hotel right across the street from the beach.

3. The couple = Michelle & Dave. What can I say? I heart them, too. They are laidback. Sweet. Perfect for each other. And...SO ready to laugh. (For proof, click play below and see the karate kid shots.) Their families and friends were among the nicest people I've met at any wedding EVER. Thumbs up all around.

4. The photo crew = Me & my rockstar pal Michael Juiliano. Huge thanks to Michael for making the trip all the way out from Maryland to tag along as my second shooter for the weekend. Hopefully we'll be teaming up again sometime soon!

5. The day = spring perfectness at the beach.

6. The party = in no particular order...
Miranda Campbell, Congress Hall coordinator and all around wonderful person. If you're thinking about getting married in Cape May, do not go anywhere but Congress Hall -- it is 100% worth it. Miranda made sure the party was full of smiles from start to finish!
Elliot Batterman of Tri-State Professionals lit up the dance floor and kept the party going. There wasn't an empty spot on the floor all night.
Craig Carpenter from Well-Spun Weddings filmed the day. He's a true artist and such a great guy to spend the day tearing up the town with.

Add that all up and you've got one incredible wedding. So good, in fact, that I couldn't fit all of my favorite shots into a blog post, so I put together a little movie for y'all. Click play below to get it rolling! (If you have trouble viewing the show in this window, just click here to open the slideshow in its own window.)

Michelle & Dave -- hope you're having a wonderful time playing out in California & Hawaii! Thanks for having me along on your amazing day.

Happily ever after...and buy some beers while you're at it.

So I just rolled into Cape May, NJ for Michelle & Dave's wedding tomorrow, and on the road into town I spotted this excellent piece of work:

They got a whole liquor store billboard dedicated to their happy wishes!! Now I'm even MORE excited for tomorrow....

It's Jake's birthd-hay.

Today is my horse's birthday! Jake doesn't have a very good sense of time, so when I told him it was his birthday, he was flabbergasted. The conversation went a little something like this.

Me: Hey Jake. Guess what? Today is your birthday!
Jake: (Chew, chew, chew) Heh?

blog_0024.jpg

Me: Seriously. It's your birthday!
Jake: My birthday? You're kidding! Woohhhaaahhaaaheee!

Blog_1_2.jpg

Jake: I love birthdays! Wait.....does this mean I get cake?
Me: Umm.... no. Sorry.

Blog_2_2.jpg

Jake: Pppptttthhhppphhhtttt. You stink.
Me: Yeah, sorry 'bout that. But I'll probably post some pictures of you on the blog in your honor. Ready? Look handsome....

Blog_3_3.jpg

Jake: How'd I look? Pretty good? Did I have anything in my teeth? I feel like there might have been something in my teeth.
Me: Uh....Nope. That was perfect. You look great.
Jake: HA! Birthdays are cool.

blog_0018.jpg

Jake: Wow. I am AWESOME! Now go get me some cake.
